My first time visiting North Vegas and it was a very nice experience. I went in to pick up a buddy, take him for a ride out to Mesquite and then drop him back at VGT. We used the self-service pumps and all was good there. Fuel cost about a dollar less than at my home airport. The tower and Vegas approach staff were great. We came in IFR so that was straightforward. We departed VFR and got vectors through and out of the Vegas bravo heading back to San Diego. I let VGT's ground folks know I was not familiar with the airport, and they gave a little extra info which was very helpful. We were there on a Nascar weekend, but I suspect it is a busy airport all the time. I've been into LAS and HND as well. All three are great Vegas options even in our little 182.

I was based at VGT from May 2001 until Feb 2024. I always noticed the line guys hanging out somewhere in a shady spot in their vans seemingly avoiding doing anything. They certainly wouldn't help transient piston pilots with anything. About the only time they'd help was when bizjets arrived/departed. I guess the jet owners tip better. I recently flew back into VGT for a few days. There was no help in tie-down, help with my aircraft cover on a very windy day and certainly no help with getting my bags to the terminal. There was a line guy barely 50 yards from me. Nada, zilch. Clark County is paying these folks to mostly sit around. Pathetic. On a positive note, the folks at the front desk were pleasant, which is a change from years past. Rental cars are a short Uber ride away.
